The Savior Lives

I know my Savior lives. That is why I celebrate Easter.

It is not about bunnies, eggs, or a goddess of fertility named Ishtar.

It is not about all of the mistakes made by the early attempts at recognizing and worshiping our Lord, which have been repeated by every generation since.

It is not about recognizing Sunday as THE day of his resurrection.

It is about the atoning sacrifice He made for all of us whose result is His resurrection and life.

It is about the fact that because of His atonement you and I are blessed with many things, including:

  • Spiritual reconnection with our Heavenly Father, Mother and Siblings.
  • Access to and endowment from His Holy Priesthood.
  • The opportunity to continue loving, learning and growing through eternity, because...
  • We can receive the same resurrection He has experienced.

There is a catch in all this. Nothing in time and all eternity comes without price.

Our price is to humbly submit to the way he showed us, and continues to show us, by following His commandments and walking the path He trod.

The truth is simple and is also easy to practice. Sadly, many people choose to follow a different path that is not rooted in truth.

What I am about to share is a quote from the Holy Bible's New Testament, in the Book of Matthew, Chapter 22, beginning with verse 35, you will read:

(from the King James version)

35  Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,

36  Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

37  Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and

        with all thy mind.

38  This is the first and great commandment.

39  And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

40  On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

These two simple principles are the foundational elements of life. Think about it.

If you love God with your whole heart, soul and mind: would you act in any way that would detract from that relationship?

If you love your neighbor (metaphor – all other humans) as much as you love yourself: would you ever act in a way that would cause someone else harm?

We are the beneficiaries of the greatest truths of all time and eternity. We KNOW what He has given us in knowledge and understanding is the fruit, the sustenance of our spiritual reality.  We need only partake of that fulfilling message, putting it into action, to reap the reward of exaltation.

Sisters, Brethren please understand.

Love is the only emotional element that transcends temporal and spiritual absolute noesis.

This Easter I pray that we all will know and share the love He has for us and that every one of us may stand in awe at the ultimate sacrifice He made for all of humanity.

Our Savior Lives. We will live with Him and continue the journey...
